On Friday, East faced Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The East Thunderbirds secured a 68-64 W over the Laramie Plainsmen. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbirds.

Despite the loss, Laramie still got an impressive performance from Neil Summers, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 rebounds. Those 35 points gave Summers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Smith, who posted ten points and six boards.

East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Laramie, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.
