Volleyball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Victorious

St. Vincent-St. Mary posted their closest victory since September 6th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tallmadge Blue Devils 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Vincent-St. Mary got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 14-25, 25-17, 27-29, 15-13.

Averie Lash was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.

St. Vincent-St. Mary moved to 11-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Tallmadge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Coming up, St. Vincent-St. Mary is taking a road trip to face off against Canfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tallmadge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
