Basketball Game Preview: Hoffman Estates Hawks vs. Sandburg Eagles

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Hoffman Estates Hawks challenge the Sandburg Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday... Hoffman Estates will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hoffman Estates picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They strolled past Carmel with points to spare, taking the game 54-37. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Corsairs are ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sandburg slipped by Maine East 60-59 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Hoffman Estates is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Sandburg, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
