Cyprus has no trouble against Murray

Recap: Cyprus Pirates vs. Murray Spartans

Even though the Cyprus Pirates have not done well against the Murray Spartans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Cyprus took down Murray 59-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cyprus.

Cyprus had a senior duo take command as Amelia Echternkamp scored 25 points along with 3 steals and Tamila Francis scored 14 points along with 3 steals.

Despite the loss, Murray still got an impressive performance from Mia Auclaire, who scored 22 points. Auclaire scored a full 51.2% of Murray's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Scherbel, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.

Cyprus' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Murray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cyprus will take on Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Murray, they will head out on the road to face off against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Kearns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday.
