Baseball Recap: Versailles Comes Up Short

Richland hit Versailles with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Rebels, falling 9-1. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Versailles and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Richland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Versailles will head out to challenge El Dorado Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Richland, they will challenge Scott County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.14 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
