Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Eagles vs. Drew Charter

The Columbia Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge Drew Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Columbia will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Columbia escaped with a win against South Atlanta by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48.

Meanwhile, Drew Charter came up short against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate on Saturday and fell 65-55. While losing is never fun, Drew Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is ranked 79th).

Columbia is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Drew Charter, they dropped their record down to 10-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Columbia strolled past Drew Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 61-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
