League recap: Rockwall-Heath paces 5A Region II District 12 with three wins over past week

5A Region II District 12 league recap: 3/27/13

Rockwall-Heath outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Hawks beat Horn 11-0 and Plano 6-4.

Lee made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fifth to second place in 5A Region II District 12 thanks to a 2--1 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, North Mesquite fell hardest in the standings, dropping from third all the way to fifth place after going 0-1 in the past week. Rockwall-Heath (9-5, 4-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.

The Stallions' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 14 hits and ten walks, both of which led the league.

North Mesquite's Bobby Albiar kept his eye on the prize while at bat this week, leading the league with a .750 average (3-for-4). For the season, he's hitting .455, good for third in the league. Albiar has 20 hits total this season.



The Stallions' Tyler Starks led the league in strikeouts this week with seven. He's first in the league with 37 total strikeouts.
