Baseball Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

Discovery came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Inspiration Academy Lions, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Inspiration Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Discovery will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Dragons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Inspiration Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Winter Haven at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
