Softball Game Preview: Globe Tigers vs. Apache Junction Prospectors

The Globe Tigers will face off against the Apache Junction Prospectors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Globe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Globe got the win against Pima by a conclusive 17-8. Considering the Tigers have won seven matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Makaila Fillip looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Globe got a massive performance out of Erlynda Horta, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Horta a new career-high. Audiyana Navarro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Apache Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They came up short against Combs, falling 19-9.

Globe's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Apache Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything went Globe's way against Apache Junction in their previous matchup on April 3rd, as Globe made off with a 20-1 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Prospectors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
