Softball Recap: New Holstein Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valders on Monday, New Holstein came back down to earth. The Huskies fell just short of the Brillion Lions by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Emma Manderscheid made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

New Holstein's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Brillion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

New Holstein didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-4 win against Chilton on the 22nd. As for Brillion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Roncalli on the 22nd.
