Football Recap: Hammond Tornadoes vs. Ponchatoula Green Wave        
        
		
             While Hammond has struggled on the road with five straight losses, that wasn't the case  on Friday thanks to  Zalen Bennett. The Hammond Tornadoes walked away with  a   33-25  win over the Ponchatoula Green Wave  thanks in part to  Bennett, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in September.
 Bennett was just one part of a punishing run game: Hammond was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 227  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 166  rushing yards in nine consecutive  games.
 Hammond didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Kenyatta Fleet and  Javion Thomas. Thomas also set a new season high mark in  total tackles with ten.
 Hammond's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ponchatoula,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-8.
 As of now, neither Hammond nor Ponchatoula have any future games scheduled.
