Basketball Recap: Columbus Torah Academy Comes Up Short

Columbus Torah Academy easily dispatched Ohio School for the Deaf last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Columbus Torah Academy Lions fell just short of the Denver Academy of Torah Wolves by a score of 49-47 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Denver Academy of Torah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ami Gelman, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 17 points. Avi Askenazi was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Columbus Torah Academy fell to 2-1. As for Denver Academy of Torah, their record is now 8-3.

Columbus Torah Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-40 defeat against Denver Academy of Torah on the 2nd. As for Denver Academy of Torah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-50 loss against Tournament Opponent on the 31st.
