Softball Recap: Pocola Indians vs. Eufaula Ironheads
Pocola put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Eufaula Ironheads. Considering the Indians have won 24 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Allyssa Parker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Jerrell was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had since back in August. Dauslyn Brown was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Pocola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Pocola pushed their record up to 32-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road. As for Eufaula, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-4.
