Hoosier Hills recap October 22, 2013

Columbus East extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Hills this week by beating Bedford North Lawrence, 65-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

Columbus East took down the Stars 65-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alex Cowan threw for 127 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 22 yards during the win.

Colton Kimm provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Floyd Central bested New Albany. He completed 12 passes for 207 yards and also ran for 10 yards. Kimm's key target this week was Trevor Smith, who caught 3 passes for 57 yards.

He was 5-6 with 0 interceptions.

Gaige Klingsmith was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 160 yards on 35 carries as the Highlanders topped the Bulldogs. Nick Uhl also contributed to the rushing game with 110 yards on the ground.

6-foot-3 quarterback Kimm of Floyd Central is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,283. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is JT Voelker. The Columbus East star has 20 catches for 343 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bob Gaddis' team takes on Madison. The Olympians are in first place, while the Cubs are in fifth place.

Brian Glesing's team and New Albany played the closest game in Hoosier Hills this week, with Brian Glesing's team eventually emerging with a 35-34 victory. Klingsmith ran for 160 yards and caught 1 pass for 14 yards in the win.
