Basketball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Rangers vs. Cedar Ridge Raiders

The Vista Ridge Rangers will challenge the Cedar Ridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vista Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Cedar Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Vista Ridge turned things around against McNeil on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 60-49. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rangers considering their 30-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vandegrift. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Vipers are ranked 177th).

Vista Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Cedar Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19.

Everything went Vista Ridge's way against Cedar Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Vista Ridge made off with a 65-39 win. Will Vista Ridge repeat their success, or does Cedar Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
