Baseball Game Preview: Canisius Crusaders vs. St. Mary's Lancers

For the second straight game, Canisius will face off against St. Mary. The Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Canisius took a loss when they played away from home on April 7th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past St. Mary's 3-1.

Jack Steiner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Gavin Eynon was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Nick Scime also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
