Football Recap: Horseshoe Bend Comes Up Short

Horseshoe Bend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central of Coosa County Cougars. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Horseshoe Bend's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Central of Coosa County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horseshoe Bend will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on White Plains at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Central of Coosa County, they will square off against Ranburne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
