Baseball Recap: Rio Vikings vs. Heritage Christian Patriots

Rio had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it 19. They lost 9-2 to the Heritage Christian Patriots. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Rio saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Shawback, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Shawback is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Heritage Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
