Softball Recap: Livonia's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Livonia dropped their record down to 8-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 9-2 to the Avon Braves. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Livonia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Turek, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Avon, their record is now 12-3. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Livonia: they've now won five in a row.

On Avon's side, Jessie Crye made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Crye has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 13 strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Abby Schutz and Kyleigh DeRider did most of the damage at the plate: Schutz went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while DeRider went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most runs Schutz has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Rylie Miller, who went 1-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Livonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Avon, they will take on Honeoye Falls-Lima at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
