Softball Recap: Fort Bend Hightower Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fort Bend Hightower, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Bend Bush Broncos a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Hurricanes have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Fort Bend Hightower got a great performance from Bailie Holts as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Holts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Baylee Bonner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Amiyah Lee was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fort Bend Hightower was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Bush only posted a batting average of .150.

Fort Bend Hightower's record now sits at 14-3-2. As for Fort Bend Bush, they dropped their record down to 7-6-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
