Basketball Recap: Union Catholic Takes Down Ranked Elizabeth

On Tuesday, Union Catholic faced Elizabeth in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Union Catholic Vikings secured a 56-50 W over the Elizabeth Minutemen. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Union Catholic and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Elizabeth, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Plainfield the next time they take the court. Union Catholic will head out to face Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Elizabeth will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
