Baseball Recap: Simeon Wins Going Away Against Holy Trinity

Simeon's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Holy Trinity Tigers as Simeon made off with a 13-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolverines needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Cavion Danley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Danley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Antonio Porterfield was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Ben Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Simeon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Simeon back to even at 2-2. As for Holy Trinity, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Simeon is taking a road trip to face off against Evergreen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Simeon will need to watch out since Evergreen Park has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Holy Trinity, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
