Basketball Recap: Knox Takes Down Winamac in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Knox had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Winamac Warriors out 36-34. The victory was some much needed relief for the Redskins as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Winamac's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaelyn O?Connor, who posted eight points and ten rebounds, and Sadie Popejoy, who earned 14 points and six boards. That's the most boards O?Connor has posted since back in November of 2024. Mershai Loehmer was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Knox's win bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Winamac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

Knox will face off against South Bend Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Knox is facing South Bend Career Academy at the right time seeing as South Bend Career Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Winamac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
