Soccer Recap: Garland Extends Winning Streak to Three

It was a Battle of the Birds when Garland took on Rowlett on Tuesday. The Garland Owls had just enough and edged out the Rowlett Eagles 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Alessa Tamez and Niryah Newman scored both of Garland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

The win (which was Garland's third in a row) raised their record to 7-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Rowlett, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6.

Coincidentally, Garland and Rowlett will both be playing Wylie the next time they take the pitch. Rowlett will host Wylie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Garland will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on March 4th.
