Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Bluff Tigers vs. Wadley Bulldogs

The Cedar Bluff Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Wadley Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Cedar Bluff: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Wadley has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Cedar Bluff is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 30th on Monday. They lost 71-49 to Spring Garden. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Panthers are ranked 76th).

While Wadley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-42 victory over Horseshoe Bend.

Wadley's win came from a few key players Cedar Bluff will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Frisco Robertson, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarious Spraddling, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Wadley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Wadley's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cedar Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
