Baseball Recap: Ethan Reno Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Albany Academy for Boys

Voorheesville hadn't done well against Albany Academy for Boys recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blackbirds' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cadets a 6-0 shutout. The Blackbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Voorheesville's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Reno, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Another was Chase Phillips, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Voorheesville's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5-1. As for Albany Academy for Boys, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
