Football Game Preview: Fullerton Warriors vs. Wynot Blue Devils

The Fullerton Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Wynot Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fullerton has given up an average of 28.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fullerton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Riverside on Friday. The Warriors enjoyed a cozy 52-34 win over the Chargers.

Cael Dubas had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 254 yards and five scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. He has become a key player for Fullerton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landen Glup, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Wynot entered their tilt with Bancroft-Rosalie on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 57-6 victory. With the Blue Devils ahead 43-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Fullerton better keep an eye on Lane Heimes. He was instrumental in Wynot's win, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Heimes has posted since back in August. Braylon Hans was another key player, picking up 102 receiving yards and one score.

Fullerton's record now sits at 5-3. As for Wynot, their record is now 7-1.

Fullerton took a serious blow against Wynot in their previous matchup back in October of 2016, falling 44-16. Thankfully for the Warriors, Jalen Wieseler (who threw for 229 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 37 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
