Murrieta Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Santiago Sharks 3-2. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Murrieta Valley took Santiago into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Beaumont at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santiago, they will face off against Ontario Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
