Latin won the last time they faced Holy Trinity and things went their way on Friday too. The Romans put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 win. The Romans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.
Karim Patterson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other pitching news, Liam Calvert looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Katz, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Gavin Addison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Latin pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Trinity, they moved to 16-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
