Softball Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

Holmes fell victim to Magnolia and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 18-0 to the Magnolia Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Holmes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Rojas, who went a perfect1-for-1 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Holmes and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Magnolia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, Holmes will square off against Eastlake at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eastlake's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Holmes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Magnolia, they will take on Tomball Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
