Soccer Game Preview: Ariton vs. Highland Home

The Ariton Purple Cats will face off against the Highland Home Flying Squadron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Ariton managed to slip by Dale County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Ariton came up short against Dale County on Friday, falling 10-0. Ariton's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Highland Home was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Providence Christian. While losing is never fun, Highland Home can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Providence Christian are ranked 105th).

Highland Home's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ariton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Everything went Ariton's way against Highland Home in their previous meeting last Monday, as Ariton made off with a 6-0 win. Will Ariton repeat their success, or does Highland Home has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
