Volleyball Recap: York Prep Takes a Loss

If York Prep was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Chester on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buford Yellow Jackets on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

York Prep started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-9, 25-17, 25-11.

Madison Childers paced York Prep's offense, picking up 12 kills. Childers got some help from Carson Wallace and her nine assists.

York Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Buford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, York Prep will welcome Westminster Catawba Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Buford, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Ben Lippen on the 20th.
