Softball Recap: Marin Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Monday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marin Catholic had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks a 3-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The result came thanks to Malliah Foster's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Morgan Carlson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lana Wihlborg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Marin Catholic pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Tamalpais, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.

Marin Catholic has already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Redwood on the 13th. Tamalpais does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
