Basketball Recap: Covenant Classical Takes a Loss

Covenant Classical played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-24 loss at the hands of the Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots. The Warriors lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 78-74 score last time.

Despite the loss, Covenant Classical still got an impressive performance from Thomas Way, who posted seven points. John Oesterreich was another key player, putting up five points.

Covenant Classical dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, they moved to 6-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Covenant Classical will venture away from home to take on SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
