Basketball Recap: Giles Comes Up Short

Giles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a hard 60-46 fall against the Bland County Bears. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-57 last Tuesday.

Giles' loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Bland County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Giles will challenge Fort Chiswell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bland County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastern Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bland County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Eastern Montgomery likes a good challenge.
