If West Texas was riding high fresh off their 62-36 takedown of Vega last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Texas Comanches took a hard 53-36 fall against the Gruver Greyhounds on Friday. The game marked the Comanches' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Texas' loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Gruver, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

West Texas and Gruver should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. West Texas will challenge Happy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday up 489 places (437 vs. 926). West Texas is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. Similarly, Gruver (ranked 194th) will meet Sanford-Fritch (ranked 1287th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
