Softball Game Preview: Spring Hill Broncos vs. Paola Panthers

The Spring Hill Broncos will take on the Paola Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Spring Hill is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Saint Thomas Aquinas, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Spring Hill was ranked 18th). The Broncos blew past the Saints 11-4 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Fraley was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Haley Clark was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spring Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Paola came up short against Wellsville back in March and fell 9-4.

Spring Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Paola, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything went Spring Hill's way against Paola when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Spring Hill made off with a 15-8 win. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
