Basketball Recap: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Blanca Martinez. The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles walked away with a 50-40 win over the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers on Friday thanks in part to Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.

Legion Collegiate Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Devin Long, who posted 22 points along with five boards and three steals. Those 22 points gave Long a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amelia Williams, who had 11 points and three steals.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee has already played their next match (against A.C. Reynolds), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Legion Collegiate Academy has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Weddington.
