Baseball Recap: Lowell Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hebron on Thursday, Lowell came back down to earth. The Red Devils came up short against the Crown Point Bulldogs on Friday, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Lowell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Beardsley, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Lowell's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Crown Point, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Lowell and Crown Point should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Red Devils (ranked 61st) will meet Morgan Township (ranked 258th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Crown Point will challenge Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 92).
