Basketball Recap: Coral Shores Hurricanes vs. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions

The Coral Shores Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-47 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy (Silver Palms). While losing is never fun, Coral Shores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Stallions are ranked 247th).

Tony Guerrero was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms). It was the first time this season that Guerrero pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Touze, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Coral Shores has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Coral Shores' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Stallions on February 6th. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Rays at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Mater Academy Bay is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
