Recap: Kokomo Wildkats vs. Logansport Berries

Even though the Logansport Berries scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the Kokomo Wildkats still came out on top. Kokomo strolled past Logansport with points to spare, taking the game 78-63. Given Kokomo's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Logansport is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kokomo had a senior duo take command as Flory Bidunga dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds and Karson Rogers dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bidunga has scored at least 25% of Kokomo's points. Reis Beard was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Logansport lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris anthony Delvalle. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with three steals. Delvalle continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Russell, who scored 20 points.
Logansport struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kokomo pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for Logansport, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kokomo will square off against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrison is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Logansport won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Western at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Western is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.7 points per game.
