Softball Game Preview: Pacelli Cardinals vs. Auburndale Apaches

The Pacelli Cardinals will challenge the Auburndale Apaches at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pacelli will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Tri-County on Monday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Penguins. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cardinals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Auburndale came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hatchets a 9-0 shutout.

Pacelli's win was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Auburndale, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.
