Baseball Recap: Hampton County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hampton County had to endure a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Lake Marion Gators 20-3 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2019.

Charles Williams was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Malik Terry, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Hampton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hampton County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lake Marion, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Hampton County will head out to square off against Lake Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lee Central at 6:00 p.m.
