Volleyball Recap: South Burlington Comes Up Short

South Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobwhites/Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.

Robin Goodwin paced South Burlington's offense, picking up four kills. Goodwin were helped by Rita Jiang and Ava Savoy, who contributed five assists each. Goodwin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

South Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bellows Free Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. South Burlington will challenge rival Essex at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bellows Free Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Johnsbury Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
