Basketball Game Preview: Eastbrook Panthers vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Eastbrook Panthers and the Oak Hill Golden Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Eastbrook took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They put the hurt on Blue River Valley with a sharp 49-27 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Mia Bustos, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. A.J. Brenner was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill came tearing into last Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 42-18 margin over the Eagles. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Eastbrook's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Oak Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Eastbrook strolled past Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-33. Will Eastbrook repeat their success, or does Oak Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
