Volleyball Recap: Valparaiso Comes Up Short

If Valparaiso was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Michigan City on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 2-0 to the Morgan Township Cherokees on Saturday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cherokees apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17.

Among those leading the charge was Lexi Rippe, who had ten digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Valparaiso's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Morgan Township, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Valparaiso wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Tippecanoe Valley on the 30th. As for Morgan Township, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Plymouth Lady Crusaders on the 30th.
