Softball Game Preview: Trinity Prep Saints vs. Winter Park Wildcats

The Trinity Prep Saints will face off against the Winter Park Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Trinity Prep's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Oviedo hitters got past them. The Saints lost 17-0 to the Lions on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Saints have suffered since May 14, 2024.

Trinity Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Hartung, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Winter Park can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Harmony as they made off with a 10-4 win.

Rylie Scanlon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Scanlon was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Fleming, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikaela Will, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Winter Park, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
