Softball Recap: St. Helena's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

St. Helena waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Middletown Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Ada Blanton made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Blanton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Ellie Carmichael was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Emily Glakeler also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

St. Helena kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive games.

St. Helena pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Middletown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Helena will venture away from home to face off against Lower Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Middletown, they will head out to take on Fort Bragg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
