Basketball Recap: Southwood Comes Up Short

Southwood's last matchup with Green Oaks could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Southwood Cowboys were outmatched by the Green Oaks Giants and fell 55-24. The game marked the Cowboys' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bryson Lacour and Brayden Cooper certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Lacour posted seven points, while Cooper put up no points and four steals.

Southwood is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for Green Oaks, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Southwood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Benton at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Green Oaks and Minden will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
