Recap: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. East Hamilton Hurricanes
On Thursday, the Rhea County Golden Eagles's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by East Hamilton 29-28. That's another feather in the cap for Rhea County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mason Ford had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Ethan Davis and his 94 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Rhea County's win.
Despite the loss, East Hamilton still got an impressive performance from Jaden Haywood, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Haywood was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Rhea County's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for East Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rhea County will face off against Lenoir City at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Lenoir City will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for East Hamilton, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Oak Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Hamilton in Tennessee (Oak Ridge is ranked 20th, while East Hamilton is ranked 117th).
